We are a group of women (but men are welcome!) who have an interest in textile art and embroidery. We are of mixed abilities and there is no need for you to be able to sew to come and join us - there are no tests!
New members are always welcome - why not call in and join us as a guest for a few months?
Meeting fee for visitors is only £5.
Our meetings vary - we have talks and workshops, show and tell - we also have lots of weekend workshops and playdays. For details of what's coming up (and what's been and gone!) check out our programme below...

September Meeting - Zentangles!

A lot of the September meeting was taken up with Embroiderers' Guild business, as it was the AGM, but there was time to admire the work of many of our members, who had completed the 2016-17 Chairman's Challenge of producing a Zentangle made up of a number of different stitches - one for each month. The pieces were, for the most part, presented in the embroidery hoops they had been stitched in.

The stitches were :
Running
Pekinese
Fishbone
Leaf
Fern
Scroll
Loop
Vandyke
Wheat Ear
Couching
Spider's Web

Abigail's

Anne's

Davina's

Jane C's

Jane B's

Janice's

Jacqui's

Mandy's

Margaret's

Maureen's

Rona's

Val's

Vanessa's

As well as seeing how everyone had chosen to interpret the challenge, we also had a chance to admire (with envy!) Anne B's finished book cover, started at the Frances Pickering workshop.
